Mudgee Wins Gold

We did it! Mudgee Region Tourism is bringing home gold from this year’s Qantas Australian Tourism Awards. We’ve picked up a win in the destination marketing category for our #ResetYourSenses campaign… and boy are we excited! A big thanks to everyone for your support – we couldn’t have done it without you!

Sydney Weekender Visits Mudgee

Following Mudgee Region Tourism’s win at the NSW Tourism Awards for best in Destination Marketing, Mike and the Sydney Weekender team were compelled to visit a number of Mudgee gems including highlights from Mudgee Fine Food’s new Farm Gate Trail, a taste of the famous woodfired pizzas and wine tastings at Di Lusso Estate, a closer look at bee hives at Mudgee Honey and a walk through the flowering olive grove at Rylstone Olive Press.

Broadsheet Features Horizon

Horizon’s open-plan design and long hall gives each bedroom privacy, while still offering each plenty of sunlight and beautiful views of the surrounding vineyards. The owners originally built Horizon as their home, but have since left it in the capable hands of managers Gail and Rob Scrymgeour. The chic styling and furnishings are only topped by the level of service the couple offers.

Weekend Getaways

To begin with a terrible travel writing cliche, Horizon Mudgee is nestled in the hills. But consider that Mudgee is flanked on three sides by the Great Dividing Range, that its name means “nest in the hills” in the Wiradjuri Aboriginal language and maybe the cliche becomes acceptable. Either way, this geometrically designed house clad in dark cedar is surrounded by undulating hills upholstered with vineyards and pastures, eight kilometres from Mudgee town.

Mudgee Guardian

Mudgee’s latest five-star self-contained accommodation is receiving great reviews from guests and more recently the metropolitan media. Aptly named Horizon Mudgee, the architecturally designed home opened its doors to staying guests in April and yesterday a “sneak peek” was held for several local tourism businesses.

The Urban List

The Hunter Valley’s lesser-known little sister, Mudgee is fast making a name for itself in its own right. Set amongst rolling hills and lush farmland just over 260km north west of Sydney, New South Wales’ second biggest wine region is steeped in history, boasting some of Australia’s finest heritage architecture and numerous award-winning wineries.

If you’re looking for luxury, look towards Horizon Mudgee. With good looks that wouldn’t look out of place in an architectural glossy, this property sits on 50 acres complete with grape vines, grazing cattle and riverside frontage. When you tear yourself away from the spectacular views – be warned: this may take a while – turn your attention to the house, where inside you will find four king-size bedrooms, three bathrooms, fireplaces and a library.
